Focus and Scope
JCER is a publication in which scientists, philosophers and other learned scholars publish their research results and express their views on the nature, origin and mechanism of consciousness. In doing so, we hope that one day we will be able to arrive at a genuine science of consciousness.
Reality is apparently an interactive one centered on consciousness and the interaction between consciousness and reality seems to be a “chicken-egg” puzzle. One of JCER's focuses is on the the following: (1) Is reality (the “chicken”) produced and influence by consciousness (the “egg”); or (2) is consciousness produced and influenced by reality?
Peer Review Process
JCER employs a three-tier due diligence process in selecting submissions for publication. First, all submissions are screened by the Editors to determine whether the contents and/or forms are suitable for publication in JCER; and unsuitable submissions will be declined without reviews. Second, the remaining submissions will be reviewed by the Editors; and submissions passes Editors' reviews will be accepted for publications. Third, the still remaining submissions will be sent to one or more JCER Advisors or outside reviewers for further reviews or sent back to the authors for revisions; and final decisions will be made by the Editors based on JCER Advisors' or outside reviewers' reviews and/or revisions made the authors. The Editors will also solicit certain articles for publication or invite some authors for submissions which will then be put through the said due diligence. Commentaries to articles published in JCER and replies from authors are welcomed; and they will be subjected to the said due diligence before acceptance or refusal.
